I remember my dad and his cousin soni lofty(used to own capn crocs) telling me stories of how he used to fly down grand central on the go karts at night, then the cops would come out looking for them, they'd get up on the cops bumper so close, that they couldn't see them 8)

That'd be wild, the handling & maneouvering of the karts is in a class completely outside of the cruizers. I'd imagine if geared properly a Kart could beat a crown vic on top end. (we already know who wins on the low end).


Ya know the SICK thing is? 0-60 on a kart in about 4 seconds... that's approaching Indy/F-1 cars and a few other Über-Acceleration vehicles.

On somewhat of a sidenote I was planning on building a 1/3 scale F-1 car... no joke. But decided to better spend my money elsewhere. I had a fully independant rear with mini-coilovers (adjustable) all worked out, I had a front suspension with the same style anti-roll setup that the F1 cars use (because you never see sway-bars on them now do you).

I could build it, but it'd NEVER EVER EVER be street legal, however it'd be teh $#1T. *drool*

I was either thinking of using a GSX-R 750 Suzuki engine (ultimate, however expensive) Power to weight ratio would be sickening :D OR on a larger frame setup using a 3S-GTE Toyota engine (4 cylinder, 16 valve DOHC, turbo'd pushing 220hp) they were used in the 87 & 88 Celica GT-S's (I had an 87). They were also exclusively used in the 87 & 88 Celica GT-S All-Trac Turbo (can be seen in some old-skool rally vids) it's still a strong car if you can find one. I want one.. they look like crap but ... are sooo much fun to drive.

While I'll admit to "test driving" a 125 shifter race kart with some friends on some "special" roads (ask me later bout that story.. :P ) I haven't gone more than 90mph in one. So its not me!!!!!!

Yes, karts are way fun but very dangerous too. Get bumped at all and you are a goner. I flipped one on the track once and just didn't bounce back like I thought I would. (hairline fracture)
