The following are recommended by me, Rusty in addition to the stuff up top.

Dark City
The Crow
Enemy @ the Gates
Nightmare Before Christmas
Equilibrium
Run Lola Run
Requiem for a Dream
Princess Mononoke
Ghost in the Shell
Ghost World
Sleepy Hollow
Escaflowne
the Matrix
the ANIMATRIX
Pitch Black
the Abyss
Hackers
50 First Dates (no really, it's quality stuff, proves Adam Sandler can play more than immature idiot roles).

That's all I can think of for right now...

hehe yeah we gotta have MST3K, oh yeah... umm The Rocky Horror Picture Show (though some closed minded people may not like it, take it at face value & it's fun. It's freaky, it's crazy, and it's a... singing broadway show? EH? :?: yeah)

Hmm....

Strange Brew
Dazed & Confused
Easy Rider
Smallville Seasons 1, 2 (3 should be out any day)
Harry Potter(s)
8 Seconds
61*
Field of Dreams
Eight Men Out
Major League
Pride of the Yankees
Rudy
Replacements
Remember the Titans
American Grafitti
Animal House
Frequency
Blazing Saddles
Big Lebowski
The Jerk
Caddyshack
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Joe Dirt
Enemy of the State / The Conversation
Heartbreak Ridge
Momento
Antitrust
Mothman Prophecies
A Perfect World
Usual Suspects
X-Men/X2
Spiderman 1/2
Driven
Aliens

And for the purposes of redundancy, I add my vote to the forementioned movies:

LotR
Pirates of the Caribbean
Bad Boys
Smokey and the Bandit
Nemo
American History X
Days of Thunder
Seven
Black Hawk Down
Braveheart / Gladiator
Office Space
The Crow
Matrix
Hackers (including the 2nd)
Full Metal Jacket

Notes on others mentioned:
Animatrix - I found this too sporatic and confusing; this series of shorts was put together to help fill in the gaps, but I found most of them completely irrelevant to the movies.
Rocky - Uh, take out the 5th one.
Rocky/Die Hard/Predator/Shawshank - Good movies, but I wouldn't buy them, since you can turn TBS/USA/etc on any weekend and find at least one, if not all, of these on.

Days of Thunder blah thats the Fast and Furious of the Nascar world instead of "I live my life a 1/4 mile at a time" Days had "rubbin is racin".

But Stange Brew now thats a classic......eh you Hosier! I think I am going to try the mouse in the beer bottle thing so i can get free beer.

I saw the original before the one with Cage & Jolie :D Back in HS when I was on my Cannonball Run renting spree.

and at least drawing blanks isn't nearly as bad as shooting them

Good man. I first saw it in the early 80's, but it wasn't until 89/90 that I got my first copy on VHS. I waited and waited for it to be released on DVD, was glad I did.

no way..
no one listed 'The Wraith' ?

A town over-run with punk street racers, and a mystery car and driver come to town to race/kill other racers. The car is a Dodge MS4 otherwise known as the Turbo Interceptor. Twin turbo 2.2litre. If you havent seen it, look it up on the net.. There's also some wild Daytona's in the movie.

Doh, forgot the Wraith. There is a guy I met online, I think at Tribes, that owns one of the Turbo Interceptors ever made.
