Hey guys.. (all 3 of you, so far!) Davis told me about the site, so I decided to swing by and introduce myself.
I'm out quite often running around, so flag me down if you ever see me. I play on getting the word out about the site if it's OK with everyone.
Cheers,
RallyEX

Please do. I put a vinyl logo on my car yesterday. I hope that will generate some traffic. Any other ideas?
It's good to have you Tim. Welcome to the site.
BTW... the site has only been up for about 5 days. So, we're all newbies.

Well, I work in Marketing. I might be able to think of a few things.. :)
I know a lot of the younger car enthusiast crowd around town, I can get the word out... but sometimes that could bring a lot of riff-raff that older, more mature adults wouldn't like. However there are a few bunches of guys that would probably bring a lot to the site.
Also, a movFast.com-sponsored SCCA AutoCross in the local area would probably be great advertisement if we had a few vinyl banners hung up in places... That's a bit of a pipe-dream, but it sounds like it could work given the proper planning.
Vinyl decals are always a great draw, especially if it's the only one on your car and not lost in a sea of advertising horror. A lot of these guys running around with a parts "roll call" have so many logos I don't know what to read first.
And there are many other ways to get the word out... I have a few cans of spray paint laying around the house... J/k, vandalism is the last thing I want associated with a website this area has needed for a very long time.
Your thoughts?

You didnt stay the new guy for long.. I hold that title now!

This would be a great Idea.. probably a great undertaking as well..
It'd be great to set up a course on the tarmac over at wood county airport.. but I'd say we can put that in the 'never gonna happen' files.
Around parkersburg, I cant think of any empty parking lots that would be suitable.. I worked with a guy a while back that said they set up a course in the old montgomery wards parking lot one time.. but theres a golden coral in there now..
as for advertising.. What do you think about posting in the regional forums on the 3G eclipse sites?
whats the chances of contacting the SCCA officials and hanging a banner at the events? I have contacts with a t-shirt printer.. maybe some shirts to wear as advertisment? decals on the car would be cool too.. but like you said.. you dont want a cluster of advertisment on your ride either..

I've heard a few older guys(40s & 50s) tell me about the autocrosses in the Montgomery Ward lot. I think the old Krogers lot at the Grand Central Mall would be a good site. The only problem with that lot is the fact that they salted it sometime during the winter and the salt debris makes it a bit slippery for an autocross.
I'm really consiedering contacting WVU-P and getting a campus organization(greek, political, student government) there to help with easing the idea to the administration. The lot is excellent and no classes on Sunday. We could push the idea as a fund raiser for the organization. They can sell soda, pizza and hot dogs during the event to raise money.

Lets hold off on that for a few weeks/months. Last time I checked there wasn't many from this general area on there. But it's been awhile since I checked. Lets see what we can do without advertizing on the net; at least for awhile.

My plan was to organize the autocross with the SWV region(Charleston WV) or the SCCA. They have had some trouble in the past 2 years with securing good lots. They have expressed interest in doing an event up here. I'd love to have our own region here, but it takes a LOT of work to run one.

T-shirts... I'd buy some
The movFast.com logo is the only aftermarket one on my car. I'll post a pic of it later today. AC Audio and Video did the vinyl. They have the logo on file if any of you want one, feel free to stop buy and pic one up. I got two logos for $10... you can't beat that.

I'm definitely game for some t-shirts and vinyl logos... I may stop by in the next few days and pick up a couple.
T-Shirts would be cool also, great advertisement, but a big investment if we are buying several at a time.
Robbie: I'm a photoshop-nut-wannabe... Mind if I play w/ the logo and maybe come up with a design or two? If you like them, cool.. if not, that's cool too! I just like to play around with stuff and I've been searching for an excuse to photoshop up a few design pics incorporating cars and the Parkersburg/Marietta skyline photos that I have taken... (not much of a skyline  )

 Go for it. I dabble in PS. I'm defiantly not classified as a nut. I'd actually like to change the whole color scheme of this place. If you can find a cool phpBB template/scheme that would be fine with me. This is just the default scheme.

Robbie: Sounds good. I'll play around and see what I can come up with. A mini meet would be excellent as well, looks like we've got 5 members now.. We could almost fill up a booth at outback! 8)
wv^clipse: Welcome. How did you hear about the site? Maybe we can get the whole t-shirt thing going or something.

T-shirts cool!
While I'm not big on vinyls...I'd just put 1 on. (movfast)
I'm sure there's some domestic/import muscle heads in Marietta that would like to see a site. It would be great if we had a small flier to kepp in our cars and give out to fellow car nuts. black/white or color which ever.

Given a little time and the site owner's permission I'm sure I could come up with something... :D

Yeah, I'm an OhioHondas member. I live in little hocking, but I grew up in Beverly and my parents still reside there. My in-laws live in Athens, Ohio (fun driving on the way to their house as well... )
