Anybody ever ask you why your motor is in backwards? :D

My motor is not backwards the Mitsu guys are backwards thats why they lose 10hp! And this is how all new cars are configured now to get the header close to the cat as possible for quick heat ups.
Oh yes 420a not that sohc pos just the dohc one lol! 150hp baby get out of my way hahaha! Not bad motor though same as in the ACR and R/T(1st gen), also prerunner of the srt4 and other dodge 2.4 dohc motors shares alot of parts( just not the good ones) :D

No Dave, its the darn DSMs. All DSM engines are backwards, even the 4G63. :wink:

Well, even if they are all backwards, at least the 420A doesn't have the crank problems that the 4G63 has... That really has been what kept me from even considering a 4G63T powered DSM in the past.

IMO, crankwalk is overrated. Yes many a DSM had crankwalk, but what percentage? Ben, is your crank walkin'?
Were the DSM engines assembled in the US or overseas?

I don't know, the DSM Troll (Justin, narfdanarf) seems to know alot about them.
Perhaps I am biased, because when I hear of a common problem I tend to stay away from it even if it is not that big of a deal. Very common...
dodge trucks = bad trasmissions
DSM's = crankwalk
dodge neons = bad head gaskets, etc.

Early neon HG were junk they were a composite design that blew out now they are Multi layer steel which is what mine is after the composite went. :(

If i remember correctly all the dsm's were made in the same factory in Indiana, except of course of the ones made in Japan which obviously were better with more hp. Something else a lot of people don't realize is that there were no non turbo eclipses made in japan, no talons, and of course no lasers.
If you are looking to buy a dsm i believe the earlier ones are better because they are less prone to crankwalk.

Because of a blown hg. but on the above discussion i think they are backwards not us. Are motors are easier to work on more room when they look like there squeezed in there... Haha Oh well :lol:
