Has anyone else heard about this? What a load of crap... That is all I can say. Here are some links to help you understand what they are doing a bit better if you haven't heard about this yet.

The analogy used in the second link is extremely good. It's like Nike selling you a basketball shoe, and telling you that you can't play basketball in them.

I've owned my Evo for over a year and have had ZERO problems. I also will take responsbility for my actions and damage that is caused by them. However, voiding entire drive train warrentys is just dumb. I hope the McClinton crew dosen't give me the shaft. After-all, I don't autocross! I just watch. I prefer to race on the street where there is no documentation or more importantly... SAFETY!!!!!!!
Mitsubishi is basically saying "keep to street racing, so we don't catch you" or "we don't trust our cars in 1st and 2nd gear" or "With a rally racing heritage... it'll look good cruizing or sitting in your garage" or I could go on and on....
 McClinton

You better hope McClinton is like that....if they catch wind of your escapads on the track you are done to put it simply...hush hush.... 8)

I knew robbie would be the first to reply to this, because it applies more to him than anyone else here.
The only thing the honda dealership ever gave me crap over was that they wouldn't warranty my struts because I'd lowered the stance of the car and stiffened the suspension with aftermarket springs.
I said "That's OK, I already blew them and ordered another set." And that was that. Besides, I was at 35,8XX miles that day, and would be out of warranty within the next 2 days anyways at that point... so whatever. They had an idea of what I did with the car, and didn't really care as long as it wasn't obvious.

Been around for a while...back when the first EVOs hit the states and were taken to the track(1/4), a mitsu rep. would be there to tell the evil stealership. The warranties were quickly voided, and when the owners came in with broken drivetrains, it wasn't pretty...
