The Official 3G Eclipse Suspension Swap / Cookout Thread

Adam and I have procured a copy of every Getway in Stockholm documentary (1 through 4, #3 will be in our possesion soon). I think it's time we had a GiS Marathon Screening and Cookout. Adam and Robbie both have nice home theatre setups and a good place to grille.

At this time, I am just guaging interest in who all could attend and whether it would be worth organizing a little get together for this.

A lot of people have heard of Getaway in Stockholm, some have already seen a few of them, however they are great videos and well worth the ~20 minutes each to see them.

So, what should we do for this? Cookout? What dates would we be interested in? (Obviously as not to conflict with an autocross, etc.)

Idea...After we watch the series why don't we do our best to re-create it in the streets in P-Burg. I'll bring my bullet cam!!! Official MovFast Getaway......of course I'm joking...but the thought was entertaining!

Well, let's get this figured out then... Who's house, what date/time, etc. Once all of that is squared away we'll designate some people to purchase grille foodies and go from there.

Sounds like a plan to me. Everyone is welcome @ my house, as I am sure Robbie feels the same. Parking isn't really an issue for either of us. I have a decent big yard, nice grill, picnic table, trees to shade us and a trampoline. What more could you ask for...lol. The only con I can think of is that I can't seat as many in my "theater" as Robbie can. I have plenty of room on the floor, just maybe 6 seats and another 6 on the floor. Other than that the house is easy to find and get to.

I think a Sat or Sunday evening would be great. Burgers hot dogs and some fries, and I think we all would be set.

How bout this...

All at my house... Friday evening about 4:30 we start the suspension install on wv^clipse's Eclipse. Someone can man the grill while the install is taking place(burgers, dogs, etc.). After the install is complete and we all have our tummys full, we watch the flicks in the Theater. I encourage everyone to bring their significant others. My wife needs to make some friends in my "circle."

Just got to thinking... How long can a chase scene last? Bullet has a really long one, but its kinda unique. Whats the total running time of all these videos?

I believe each of the vids are ~20-30 mins long. They are 4 of them total.

Btw...I won't be there until late that evening, hopefully before it gets dark. Tomorrow (fri evening) is the Vienna Ice Cream Social, since I am a city employee, I should go. I am going to make my appearance and then I will be down...later all.... 8)

Well, so the whole getaway in stockholm thing didn't really work out, but we'll make sure it happens next time. Just gives us another reason to get together I guess...

All in all i think it went well.. took alittle longer than I expected.. but I guess we can call that the learning curve.

I would also like to Thank Robbie for the food and fun. Halo was the most fun I have had (non-car-related) in a while. We need to definatly do that again soon....

I dunno how you guys managed that but we were getting seriously whipped there. I figured with my switching back and forth between teams the whole time the group with more members would win each time...I think what really happened was it just created an extra target for you guys. Next time we play WITHOUT the tanks and ghosts, we'll see what happens then ;)

As for the suspension, I'm glad to hear you made it home Chris, just means the nuts haven't worked loose yet! J/K I hope it settles soon so you can get a good feel of the car.

i can feel a diffrence already..
but its got alittle noise.. i might have to put robbie in the trunk and drive around to see if he can pinpoint it ;)
seriously though.. i'm gonna drive it one more day and probably jack it back up and double check everything we touched.. just to make sure its all good and tight.

Just take the beating like a man...and say ...hey "Adam and Jeremy are infintly better than I". The tanks and ghosts were the most fun.
