Apprently, there is a recall for the throttle clip on these cars and the guy was not aware of it. His throttle got stuck, he freaked out, he aimed for the fence and still managed to hit the house. If that's all true, that could happen to anyone.

I read most of the thread.
The general consensus is that the kid is just that, a kid, and doesn't belong behind the wheel of a turbo (or any) car. He is the kind of person that will punch you in the gut and say his arm twitched. You're right, throttle sticks are a b*tch, but any driver worth half his salt knows that... hey, I've got two things meant specifically for this event. Neutral and an AUX position on the ignition. Read you owners' manual, it specifically states that "if you need the wheel unlocked while the motor is off, there is an "AUX" or "OFF" position before the "LOCK" position on the ignition lock cylinder. Usually you have to push the key in or push a button beside the key to turn past it.
The NASIOC community thinks he was hotrodding and the AWD (lmao) understeered him into a house at 80. For the throttle to stick to the floor, your foot has to take it there first.

And on the next episode of when cars attack..
..This innocent bus-stop is anxiously awaiting the arrival of it's weekday occupants who wait there for the school bus to come by and get them.. when out of nowhere a crazed WRX zooms in with no regard to itself and or others and takes out the innocent bus-stop with one quick swipe! Amazingly enuff the bus-stop as well as the WRX came thru the crash suffering only minor damages. When police officers questioned the WRX as to why it would take out such an innocent citizen such as the bus-stop it meerly stated 'Cause it's just what I do'.

Well, he does clearly state that he was at WOT, so I'd say that you may be onto something. As for a way to avoid it, I'd flip out, too, if my car was hurtling toward a house at WOT and I couldn't do anything about it. I'd say that we all hit WOT at times, even on the street. I know if I jammed on the gas and couldn't let off, I doubt I'd think to let go of the steering wheel, push in the clutch, move the shifter to neutral, then stop. In fact, unless you were on an open road where you had a lot of time to think about it, I doubt many of us would have the time to react like that. If the throttle stuck, it's not his fault...I blame Subaru. If there's a recall, apparently they willingly take the blame.

I've been stuck WOT multiple times..never had a problem it was pretty funny though cause my car was bouncing off the rev limiter for about 30 seconds, cause I had the clutch pushed in and was trying to turn said car off.

I read thru 3 pages of it, and he said he was @ WOT when he HIT THE HOUSE.
He said he was in second, shifting to third, and it started accelerating on its' own.
Apparently there's a Recall (as previously stated) on the throttle/cruise for that make/model.
Give the guy a break. He just totalled (or nearly so) his Suby, and hard-core fubar'd someones garage.
