well, i don't really have a favorite band.. because i listen to many things, but cd's that i listen to the most would have to be Ill Nino, Slipknot, OAR, relative ash, deftones, silver chair, fingerEleven.. list would go on forever... if i felt like typing that long lol.. But one of all time best bands i think would be Incubus
good idea on thread btw.. 8)

Operation Ivy, One Man Army, Minor Threat, Choking Victim, The Violent Femmes, Dropkick Murphy's, Rancid, Green Day, The Ramones...and on and on and on
I'd say current favorite is One Man Army; all time favorite Operation Ivy.

Favorite Metallica song, mmmm, Nothing Else Matters, Fade To Black, MASTER OF PUPPETS
Orion, To Live is to Die, Master of Puppets, Sanitarium, ... I like most of Master of Puppets, ...and Justice for All and "the Black album". I like load and reload but that was the start of the change. I didn't really care for St Anger.

Once again, thank you M. I dunno about AFI anymore, though. Their music is still good, but man, Davey turned into a woman. Anti-Flag is sweet. I like Justin Sane's solo songs, too. If you have never heard One Man Army, you should check em out. Start with the album "Last Word Spoken." If you still haven't heard them by the next auto-x, I'll give you a copy of their live DVD. Definitely worth watching. I also have a Dropkick Murphy's DVD of a 3 day show they did over St. Patrick's Day in Boston. Also worth watching.
As for Metallica, And Justice For All and the Black Album. I wish the Napster thing would never have happened. I think that the internet just brings music to a whole new level. If they're worried about money, they should just play more live shows. Isn't that what music's all about?

I agree.. old Metallica is cool, new Metallica is gay. Adam is also correct I lost alot of what little respect I had to begin with for them when the whole Napster thing came about.. Eminem was asked on an interview about Napster and Metallica an talked about how dumb it was, an how he liked the fact kids could listen to his music an bla bla.. Then as soon as Dre. jumped on the lets sue Napster bandwagon Eminem reversed what he previously stated.. once again, gay.

SHORTYSTRM you listed operation IVY and Rancid... Isnt that basically the same band except for like one or two people... I am not sure but I think I heard that somewhere
Metallica, I would agree that they lost some respect after the whole napster thing.. I love the old stuff but as for their new album... WOW.. i dont like it at all... A friend of mine went to a recent concert of theirs and said they dont even play the new stuff.. Maybe they know it sucks?!
Does anyone else besides me like slayer?
How about the Ramones?

Ok, Tim Armstarong (gutiar, vocals) and Matt Freeman (crazy bassist) were both in Operation Ivy because they were high school friends. Withthem in the band were Dave Mello and Jesse Michaels. Dave owns two record stores in Cali. and has been in a few other bands and Jesee has been all over the place, most recently he headed his own band called Common Rider. If you were to listen to Op Ivy, then listen to Rancid, the only real thing they have in common is Tim's slurring voice. There is so much emotion in Operation Ivy's music, and that's why I still love them. The recording quality isn't very good at all, but it's worth listening to. Hell, the lyrics are worth reading, even without the music. Rancid is a good band, but I still respect Op Ivy more. Those kids were geniuses back then, and they were only 16-18 yrs. old. Tim's like 33 now. He was married to Brody from the Distillers (hot punk chick...like 13 years younger than Tim lol, but she's a bitch and divorced him for the singer of Queens of The Stone Age. Tim has also had a few bands on the side. Downfall was between Op Ivy and Rancid...and they are also worth listening to. To hear some Op Ivy, some downfall, and even some Basic Radio, go to http://www.operationivy.com. Basic Radio was even before Op Ivy. The song Meat Market is pretty cool, but you can tell that they are kids.

Once again, thank you M. I dunno about AFI anymore, though. Their music is still good, but man, Davey turned into a woman? does that seriously bother you that davey grew his hair out and wares makeup? i don't think it should matter how the person acts if they make such amazing music as AFI does... they are simply amazing just my .02 8)

It's not that he grew his hair out and wears make-up, he's always had long hair and make-up. He used to all hyper and punk rock, now he's all slow and depressed. Music is good, but I wish that they would portray themselves in their videos the way they are at shows.
What's wrong with this thread being at MovFast?

What's wrong with this thread being at MovFast? he hasnt always had long hair besides that one strip in the front if you count that.. before he grew it all out, But yea i see what your saying but you gotta see thats what all bands do as they get older they calm down they lose their Pep... think about greenday or something even slipknot.. just happens but i agree their not as in your face as they were but the music has got better, U just gotta see it from a musician point of view
* and i don't see there being a problem of this thread on the site do you?*

I know Valo is gay because he announced it publicly. I am not sure but I think the whole band marches to a different tune.
