Looks like Subaru is trying to get in on the booming drag racing thing.
Hmmmm, they cut their ProRally program some, and then put $$ into drag racing. Yikes.

I'll get really mad if they drop out of WRC! (especially if the $$ goes to drag racing)
Nothing against drag racing, but Subaru's weren't necessarily made to go in a straight line.

They had this "drivers search" on nasioc.com. Looks like they found somebody.

1% chance.

Subaru made a name for itself in WRC with some top drivers. They figured it went with their image more of making dependable, rugged cars that will last till the finish. (except for those 2 water splashes DNF's this year in WRC,heh)

How successful a company will be in racing largely depends on how much capital ($$$) they throw at the program. (more $=more R&D, talented drivers, practice sessions, etc...)

Point: Hyundai was a 5-6+ time champion in the SCCA ProRally series (Choniere and Buffum)in the early and mid 90's. They threw a bunch of money into the program, got great exposure and can lay claim to the championship titles.

When Subaru and Mitsubishi went in with factory cars it was like...Hyundai who???!!
Subaru and Mitis. just out spent, out drove, and produced a good team environment that kicked peoples butts.

While the whole drag racing thing is cool for people and Mfg.s, I surely hope Subaru sticks with WRC. If they drop it (WRC) to go full-time drag racing, I'll sell the STi for $1, turn into a monk, hide in a cave and sing Barney songs until they get back to WRC.

If Subaru goes full-time drag racing an axes the WRC....then check the For Sale/wanted forum...the buyer/winner is the first to give me $1 in pennies. (not actual contract) :lol: :lol:
