Very Euro...but then again, the EP is starting to grow on me whereas the 6th gen never did...

man.. it looks like one of those cheesy cop cars you see in jackie chan movies. the ones that have like a lawn mower engine in them. the 99+ bodystyle si is dead sexy, hands down the hottest civic sold in the states. the one after if plain ugly, an now this.. i meen come on. who is in charge of designing these things ray charles?

I think that the windshield is way too big. My biggest problem is the fact that the hood and the windshield almost line-up. If they made the windshield come down at a sharper angle, and the hood slightly flatter, I may just approve.

Hey, you may not like it, but lets be nice. Somewhere out there there's some Industrial Designer wheeping as he reads a forum that totally bashes a design he put countless hours into. Anyway lets consider who Honda is trying to target with this "unconventional" design. Maybe the design is intended to get better sales in Europe... or to apeal to Sci-fi and Anime fans. Okay maybe not the sci-fi fans.

Well again I must say, consider target user. Although the "Si" may not apeal to you, you drive a civic. In every vehicle design, nothing is done just because the designer likes it. If the design were directed the you (adam) and a lot of us other Honda owners, Honda would just be "preaching to the choir." They are likely looking for a different type of driver. Not everything is directed toward young male adults in south-eastern Ohio. Just because we dont like it (I'm no fan either, but I would hardly consider any factory civic to be stylish) doesn't mean it's a "crappy" design. Maybe I'm just playing devil's advocate, or I may just know what i'm talking about, and am trying to keep an open mind.

I'm all about the open mind thing, though I strongly believe that the Civic SI carries a certain amount of small tradition...if they wanted to make something to appeal to a different sort of masses, then they should name it something else...just my opinion

if the guy who designed it see's this page then i hope he see's my post.. when you expect something above an beyond everything else, an what you get is this peice os sh|t you tend to be pissed.. me an my dad looked anxiously to the new GTO bein presented 'checkbooks in hand' an we got this peice of fuckin sh|t we have now.. sure it has some power an a t56,. but im stil not fond of it..

The 92-95 si's were about the only civic body that has had any appeal for me, I don't hate the new one, but, it doesn't take a whole lot to make the 7th gen hatches look bad.

I felt the same...I really loved my 94 coupe....but my 99 coupe is alot better. Interior mostly...aside from the engine...it just seems nicer....its truly grown on me.... 8)

im a big fan of the 99+ si, i hate the si they have out now its ugly as hell.. Channell had a nice si, thing would move for what was done to it.. 2 1/2" exhaust no cat, magnaflow catback, an i forget what intake..

Stock my 99 Si was a huge improvement over my 94 ex..that thing was a dog down low, but would do "ok" when it was moving....dohc vtec >> sohc vtec.... 8)

hey, i have lived to see some mostrosities actually sell...first pontiac slays the f-body and ups production of the aztec ( hands down the uggliest vehicle on planet earth) then the Scion comes out ( my first thought of it sent me back to kindergarden when i carried a lunch box to school everyday)...this new honda screams ugly, but i think that appeals to some people???why, who knows.....but i have seen enough aztecs and scions out there to make me believe that there is enough of a base to sell ugly cars in america


the scary thought is, someone is looking at that picture and shuffling there finances around so that they can purchase such a badass ride :roll:
