does anyone besides RIPP make a kit for the V6 eclipse? And no, before it's even brought up turbo is not an option.

HKS
looked there, only one they have listed is for a 350Z
the RIPP unit is actually a vortec, but RIPP makes all the goods to go with it, comp ect.

Hmm I have seen it in super street and Sport Compact Car. They had one for both the 4 and 6 cylinder it was even painted in the official HKS splatter paint on black background.
hrm, i went to their website an all i seen listed under superchargers was the 350Z kit. With that RIPP kit at least I know its on, it works, it will work properly, an odds are I will never have to mess with it again. Bein as how it comes with the piggyback comp an stuf, as long as I upgrade the injectors along with the other stuf it comes with then I shouldnt have to worry too much about runnin lean/rich ect. Turbo kits just seem like they never work properly, theyre a pain in the ass to get right, you gota go have them dialed in so you dont detonate your motor, I dono.. just nothing I wana be part of really.. Get more hp from a good turbo kit, but I want reliability an simplicity by way of not having to 'tinker' with it on a daily to weekly basis.

hmmm, what lag? 8)
yea, the supercharger provided power/torque from idle up. my main thing tho is im not fond of turbos.. factory equipped vehicles w/them are awesome, aftermarket setups suck unless youre willing to dump a wad of cash into them, and have someone do it who knows exactly what theyre doing an do it right. supercharger setup i can bolt on.. im not lookin to make a 3g eclipse a race car, just want it to be able to hold its own aginst stock to mildly modified v8's

I know thats pretty much the case with roots type blowers, you can tell by the way they operate. They squeeze in a specified volume per revolution of the blower(disregarding V/E before the blower). Are centrifugal superchargers the same way?
About 2 years ago when I still had my 3G, the RIPP kit was where it was at. As long as the car has a good set of rubber on it, the kit can keep up with V8s. The engine code on the 3G V6 is 6G72 which is what the 3000GT turbo had.
Jay, do you have a 3G now?

Yeah, RIPP is and has been where it's at...good set up with proven results. If I can remember correctly...the big kit landed low 14s high 13s? That's enough to romp with a few V8s...
The 3G's 6G72 is a variation of the 97+ 3000GT SOHC (164hp) engine...the exact differences escape me at the moment, but they're similar.

nah im lookin hard at 3g's tho.. i was sposed ot have a C4 vette earlier this week, but the guy just wouldnt deal with me on it.. he wants 3k over book, an alltho it is a pristine vette i just wasent payin that much over book value. my ex had a 3g an i really liked it.. major lack in power/torque but im used to drivin modded v8's. for a daily driver tho i think a force fed 3g would be a bit of allright

I have noticed that and don't know what the deal is, nice C4s book for around 7-11K if I remember correct and all these jerks that own them want like 15K. They look ok but the engines in them are junk. I went to http://www.eclipseforums.org and it looks like everyone that was supercharged was using the RIPP stuff
yea, the RIPP is actually a Vortec so reliability isnt an issue there.. 4g for the kit is a tad pricey but then again isnt bad considering it comes with the comp ect. I really dono what I wana buy to be honest, im kinda up in the air as of now.. lookin at pretty much everything

4g's....thats alot...after its installed, what would that bring you to...whp/wtq and 1/4 , et.....
Ballpark of course.... 8)
i forget the base hp/tq but at 5psi an stock injectors on the V6 it brings you up 100hp+ / you can change the injectors an run more boost, so i dono.. i like the 3g eclipses tho, they look good in stock trim, they have nice interior not econobox lookin interior.. it's hard to tell, ill end up with something new before too long tho lol
