I took an 03 LS home over the weekend. Frickin loaded, I couldn't believe all the options. Monday morning, I finally decided I didn't want to spend 30k on a used vehicle (plus tags/title/taxes).
I drove around and checked the lots one more time, and found one I overlooked previously. Its an 01 LS, so its still loaded (heated power leather captains chairs with 2 memory settings, running boards, OnStar, 3rd row seating, etc), and only missing the electronic pedals, steering wheel controls, but this one has a moonroof, which the 03 didn't. Its not the beautiful charcoal gray that I loved on the 03, but a maroon'ish color that I like the more I see it.
2 years older, but I saved $10k. I love it, and I'm sure its something I'll drive for 10 years (I don't like new cars, just bought this one so I wouldn't have to worry about anything through the move).
5.3L Vortech, and its gorgeous the way it sits so I don't want to mess it up by adding on aftermarket parts, but the hot-rodder in me is already churning out ideas...
