What makes you think it died? Is it making any noises? Did you run a harddrive utility? Bad sectors?

If not, it may be a software problem, which is perfectly fixable..save yourself the $$$.... 8)

It always ran slow and just recently the reader started clicking alot.. like having a spaz so i would shut it down, and it would be find until i ran it a little bit.. so i wanted to be safe and back up the whole computer onto a smaller harddrive (one that wouldnt hold Xp) and the next morning went to start it up... Nothing, the hard drive wouldn't kick on at all.. so yea i know itwas the HD 8)

Oh...sucks Joe...I was hoping we could fix it...

Sometimes....beleive it or not, you can very very gently tap it with a knife and get it started again....

Or, put it in a ziplock baggy, seal it tight and put it in the freezer for a few hours....then pull it out and plug it in....

If its stuck, the cold contracts the pieces and allows them to move again....

Give you time, to back up your data.....

Good luck... 8)

Your not supposed to freeze it, just let it get really cold...how long did you leave it in there for? 8)
