6 mile range 2-ways require FCC license?

Well, just like the title says...I bought some 6 mile range 2 way radios for myself for Christmas and they require a license from the FCC. Anyone have any experience with this kinda stuff? I think it's like $75 per person.

Don't worry bout it. I think its a really stupid law. Its public airwaves yet they want you to get a license.

It's actually a per family fee. It's way too much if you ask me. I'd cough up 20 bucks. I usually use mine to talk car-to-car while traveling. They work fine on the low power output for this function.
