Seems like a good bit of bump for such a small compartment....
Does he already have the stuff.....if not he could save some $$ and still have a good bit of quality..... 8)

I agree 100% with dave that all the speakers are high quality, but not a fan of any of those amps, although I'm sure it will sound just fine, expecially in such tight quarters.

Great speakers, but bad choice of amplifiers, You will get the quality of your sound through your amplifiers. If you have $1,000 speakers and a $100 amp from Ebay or your wallyworld bargain clearance. your speakers are going to sound like walmart speakers or worse. You need to pair the nicer speakers with the nicer amplifiers. You will be much more pleased with the quality if you go with a better brand than Legacy. Belive me I've been through them. I am running a Kenwood headunit, 1000 watt jensen amplifier, and 2 Infinity 1000 watt 10's Its the best sounding setup ive ever heard, and I'm not trying to be all concieted or anything. I'm just saying what I've heard and from hearing others opiniions of the system. I've also got the $40 RCA's from Circuit City the "Typhoon". They are great. The quality is amazing. Infinity and Audiobahn are good speakers. Audiobahn is still kind of new, but infinity's been around forever and day and are well known for clarity, and quality. They are the best sounding speakers, in my opinion. But when you choke them with the lesser quality amplifiers its like having a 350 ci chevy big block with a peashooter exhaust. all that power and it cant get out. :-D See I know about audio but the engine stuff's beyond me.

infinity makes 1000 watt 10's...I find that hard to believe. Infinity subs are about sound quality, and not spl....unless you are talking about their split second peak ratings. In that case they are prolly like what 300 watts rms max.

i tihnk he plans to upgrade it later but i don't really know much about high end amps to recomend good brands, i kind of figured like the godness of one of jls amps or phenoix gold, alpine, infinity, jbl, or hifonics, then for the subs he wants something that will push them but make it so that he wont over power, but that pyle amp isnt gonna do anything for those audiobahns, 125 watt rms at 4 ohm hahahahhaha

hmm.. hifonics is no longer a 'good' amp.. they used to be, but now they make cheap stuff.. mmats makes awesome stuf, a lil pricey tho.. cadence isnt bad for the price, soundstream isnt bad for the money either. to the human ear a midgrade amp with exceptional speakers wont sound any different than a high grade amp with those same speakers.. i said mid grade tho, i dont meen like go down to the bargain corner an get a pyramid or boss amp

They are 250 RMS, but 1000 watt max. No, they arent for SPL. The would be quality. If he's going for BOOM blow $#it up kinda music, stick with your Audiobahns, but you need a bigger amp to really get it out of them. Make sure that amplifier is close to 500-600 RMS not MAX.
This is the specs on your subs if you didnt already know.
dual 4-ohm voice coils
non-pressed pulp cone
huge foam surround
frequency response 23-500 Hz
power range 50-600 watts RMS (300 watts per coil)
peak power handling 1,200 watts
sensitivity 91.1 dB
top-mount depth 5-1/4"
sealed box volume: 0.4-.95 cubic feet
ported box volume: 1.632 cubic feet

Agreed.
As far as overpowering a woofer... as long as it's not distorting or bottoming out, you can't have an amp thats too big. You're more likely to blow a speaker via amplifier distortion/clipping than you are from over powering them. I always liked to have more power than I needed, to make sure not to send the amp into distortion.
Buy one of these.... I had two "back in the day." A A600.2 and a A204

Man, Robbie, I forgot about PPI. Those were the "bomb" back in the day. I couldn't afford them, though, so I ran Phoenix Gold amps.

Precision Power still makes decent stuff I hear, but they are owned by Directed now I believe. Another brand that seems good to me, but you don't hear a lot about is Image Dynamics....I don't have a lot of experience with either of these companies though.

I liked Crafters a lot better when they were out there in Lubeck. When you'd go in to hang out, you were amidst company of others that were knowledgable in the field. When they moved over there to Grand Central, it became the hangout for idiots that just wanted to be seen hanging out there.
